How do Cricket PAYGo plans work?
With Cricket PAYGo daily plans, you pay only for the days you use your phone. When you use your phone for the first time on a given day, your account is charged the per-day amount for your plan ($1, $2, or $3). For the rest of the day, you can use everything that's included in your plan, on an unlimited basis, and it won't cost you another cent. The per-day charge is initiated by such things as making phone calls, answering phone calls, sending messages, and using the mobile web. A day is defined as the 24-hour period beginning at 12:00:01 AM Pacific Time and ending at 12:00:00 AM Pacific Time the next day. Additional services are charged per use (such as 411 directory assistance), or by the minute (such as roaming). Using these additional services will trigger your per-day plan charge for that day.
There is never a charge to use *PAY (*729), call Customer Care (*611), or dial 911.
You WILL be charged for using your phone if you:
- Make a phone call
- Answer a phone call
- Send a message (text or pix)
- Check voicemail from your Cricket PAYGo phone
- Use the mobile web
- Call 411 directory assistance
There are also things you can do that will not cause your account to be charged for the day.
You WILL NOT be charged for using your phone if you:
- Dial 911
- Call Customer Care (*611 or 1-800-CRICKET)
- Try to make a phone call that isn't answered (if you reach voicemail or an answering machine, the call was "answered")
- Receive a call, but don't answer it or let it go to voicemail
- Receive a message (text or pix)
- Check your voicemail from another phone (not your Cricket PAYGo phone)
- Check your account balance or account expiration date
- Change your plan
- Top-up by dialing *PAY or 1-800-698-0358
- Shop for content on the Cricket storefront
Also, you can make or answer a call during one day of service, and keep talking past midnight Pacific Time, without triggering the per-day charge for a second day of service.
How do I know if I have enough funds in my account to pay for my service?
If your account starts to run low (your account balance is less than $5 or you have fewer than five days before your account expires), we'll play a warning message before the first outgoing call each day and before any charged call (e.g., roaming or 411) to remind you to top-up, so you can continue to enjoy uninterrupted service. You can always call *PAY (*729) from your Cricket PAYGo handset to check your account balance and your account expiration date.
If there are not enough funds in your account to pay for the day, a recorded message will tell you so. You will need to top-up before you can use your phone. You'll still be able to use *PAY (*729), call Customer Care (*611), or dial 911.
Who can I call?
Cricket PAYGo offers unlimited communication to anyone, on any network, at any time from within Cricket coverage areas. Unlike other carriers, we don't limit your "unlimited" service to a few of your friends or family, our customers, or specific times of the day or days of the week.
Where can I use my phone?
Cricket PAYGo offers unlimited communication to anyone, on any network, at any time from within Cricket coverage areas. Outside of Cricket coverage areas you will see a roaming indicator on your phone and roaming rates will apply. Not all features on all phones are available while roaming.
How do I change my Cricket PAYGo plan?
With Cricket PAYGo you can easily change your plan to suit your needs. It's free to change your plan. Just dial *PAY (*729) from your phone. You can also call us at 1-800-CRICKET and we'll change it for you.
You never pay for a day twice. Here's how it works:
Changing up: If you have already paid for today, and you move up to a higher plan, you're only charged the difference between your plans. So if you already paid for the $2 plan today, and you move up to the $3 plan, you only pay $1 more (not $3 more).
Changing down: If you have already paid for today, and you move down to a simpler plan, you'll lose access to any unlimited features that were included in the higher plan, but aren't included in the new plan. Be sure to wait until the end of the day to change plans, so you don't lose features you've already paid for.
If you haven't used your phone yet today, and you change to a new plan, you won't be charged for that plan until you use your phone.
