Cricket hosted their second annual Cricket Sings contest througout Chicagoland inviting local talent to audition to be the next big performer in Chicago. Contestants visited Cricket locations and two local High Schools from April 2nd through May 21st to showcase their talents.
10 Cricket Stores and 2 Community Organizations had their own preliminary contest and winners showcased via the Chitownsings.com Cricket Sings website and Facebook pages where the public voted each week for 6 finalists to perform in front of a panel of local celebrity judges including Americal Idol's Ta-Tynisia, Hip-Hop singer/song writer J-Lyn and Comedian III Will, to determine Chicago's next hottest star to professionally record a song and video!
Grand Finale featured a performance by BenOne with guest appearance from DaPope, hosted by Seandale, Host of Raw TV and Power 92 DJ, and judged by George Daniels, Loni Swain and Chris Schneider at the Harold Washington Cultural Center on Saturday,May 21st in Chicago's famous Bronzeville community.
Talented final contestants included Brandon Coleman, Cynthia Surpris, China Stewart, Darrell Burgs, Trice Chanele, DaAngela Smith with the final contest winner being China Stewart! China will now professionally record her talents in a video to be released by Cricket and all contestants will receive the Samsung Suede's Muve Music service for a full year so they can download unlimited music on their phones and stay connected via talk/text anytime giving shouts out to friends of new songs and non-stop groovin' and Muve-in with Cricket!
