From time to time your smartphone may seem to be operating slow or sluggish. As you uninstall/reinstall applications changes are made to the Android operating system. This may cause a steady drain on your battery, cause your device to run slower and cause applications to crash. When this occurs a Factory Data Reset may be the only solution.
Select Import/Export (For Huawei devices select Manage Contacts/Back up Contacts to SD card)
Select OK
Return to home screen
Move applications you want to keep to the SD card (this only applies to applications you have downloaded from the Google Play Store, all others are restored automatically)
Click on Settings
Click on Applications
Click on Manage Applications
Click on the application you want to move
Click on Move to SD card (if it is greyed out, it is not able to be moved)
After these steps have been done, it is a good idea to remove your SD card before performing the Factory Data Reset.
After you have backed up your contacts and moved all the applications you want to keep to your SD card please follow the instructions below. Please make sure you write down your Google account login so you can retrieve any unsaved contacts and applications.
Go to Settings
Click on Privacy
Click on Factory Data Reset (Make sure “Erase Internal SD Card” is NOT checked)
If you saved your contacts to your SD card before performing the Factory Data Reset you can restore them by using the steps below. If you are using MyBackup for your contacts, you just need to open MyBackup and it will restore the contacts through the application.
Select Import from SD Card (for Huawei devices select Restore Contacts from SD card)
The device will ask if you would like to restore One Vcard file, multiple or all. Select One Vcard.
If more than one VCF file exists, select the one with the largest file number
For example, if your choices are /sdcard/Contact/00001.vcf or /sdcard/contact/00002.vcf you should select /sdcard/contact/00002.vcf
If your contacts don’t show up, repeat the process and select the other file
If all else fails you may contact 1-800-CRICKET and choose option 3 for technical support. You may also visit a full service Cricket store for hands on help. Please use the “Store Locator” icon to find the store nearest to you.

In order to use your phone on the Cricket network it must first be programmed. In order to program your phone you must first dial a series of numbers from the keypad:
Dial *228 and hit “Send”
The display on the phone will show that the phone is being programmed. It usually takes 60-90 seconds to fully program a mobile phone. Once programming is complete you will see an “OK” message on your phone and it will turn on and off.
If for some reason the phone says “Unable to complete at this time” or displays a similar message please try to dial *228 again. When our network is busy with new activations programming can sometimes take a few minutes to download. If the phone does not program after repeated attempts, please contact 1-800-CRICKET or visit your local Cricket retail store for assistance.
*Note: some customer provided equipment from other carriers may not program via the *228 process. If you are having trouble with one of these devices please return back to place of purchase for assistance
Since your phone was designed to work on another carrier’s network not all of the Cricket network features may work even though the phone was flashed to Cricket’s network. Cricket only supports voice features and text messaging for non-Cricket phones. If you would like to experience all the features Cricket network has to offer you may want to consider purchasing a Cricket phone.
