Why does my Wi-Fi switch on at times?
WeFi Pro is designed to keep you connected to the best available network at all times. To do this, the software will sometimes automatically switch on your device’s Wi-Fi radio when you return to places where you previously connected to Wi-Fi or where Wi-Fi connectivity is expected based on WeFi Pro’s knowledge of more than 100M hotspots. You can always temporarily disable Wi-Fi if you choose, although it is not recommended since WeFi will then be unable to help you maintain the best data connection.
If you like WeFi but still want to manage your Wi-Fi radio manually, you can disable WeFi’s ability to turn on your Wi-Fi radio by following these instructions:
1. Open the WeFi Pro application by selecting it in your device’s application list. Access to your application list varies by device. If you are unsure how to access your list of applications please consult your manual.
2. Press your device’s Menu button/key
3. Press Settings
4. You should see a Wi-Fi Wakeup checkbox. Press the check mark to uncheck it and disable WeFi’s ability to turn on your Wi-Fi radio.
You can return to that menu at any time to check the box and re-enable WeFi’s control of your Wi-Fi radio.
Don’t forget! With WeFi not controlling your Wi-Fi radio you will have to remember to manually turn it back on when you need it.
