My phone will not program for Cricket, what do I do?
In order to use your phone on the Cricket network it must first be programmed. In order to program your phone you must first dial a series of numbers from the keypad:
- Dial *228 and hit “Send”
- The display on the phone will show that the phone is being programmed. It usually takes 60-90 seconds to fully program a mobile phone. Once programming is complete you will see an “OK” message on your phone and it will turn on and off.
If for some reason the phone says “Unable to complete at this time” or displays a similar message please try to dial *228 again. When our network is busy with new activations programming can sometimes take a few minutes to download. If the phone does not program after repeated attempts, please contact 1-800-CRICKET or visit your local Cricket retail store for assistance.
