if i discontinue my service in the middle of the month, will i receive a refund?

Cricket does not issue refunds, in whole or in part of your 30-day bill cycle because Cricket offers unlimited minutes per month. After you have entered into your next 30 days of service, you are responsible for payment of that full 30-day bill cycle.
