How do I initiate the upgrade on my BlackBerry Curve 8530?
Follow the prompts available through the ‘Wireless Update’ icon. Cricket recommends allowing the upgrade to run overnight, or during a time when you can be without access to your BlackBerry device for at least two hours.
The upgrade can be completed over Cricket’s network, however, if the upgrade is completed over Cricket’s 3G network, the ~20MB download will counts against your data usage level included within your rate plan.
Or, the complete the upgrade wirelessly over a Wi-Fi connection. To set up a Wi-Fi connection on your BlackBerry:
- Menu > Manage Connections > Wi-Fi select
- Menu > Manage Connections > Setup Wi-Fi Network
To manually initiate the update, go to Menu > Options > Advanced Options > Wireless Update Cricket.
The upgrade can also be completed through the BlackBerry Desktop Manager tool with a PC connected via wired LAN.
