can i change the way cricket navigator routes my trip (fastest/shortest/simplest)?

Yes. From the main Cricket Navigator screen select Menu (Left Soft Key) and then Preferences.  Select Navigation Preferences, then Trip Settings, then Route Type.  Use the Track Ball to select from “Fastest” (default) “Shortest” or “Simplest”, and press OK to save the setting.
