"Cricket Cares" Fundraising Partnership Takes Wing to Help Research and Patients at Roswell Park Cancer Institute in Pittsburgh

BUFFALO, NY - Fundraising to help find cancer cures will take a new leap this summer thanks to "Cricket Cares" - a new partnership between Cricket and Roswell Park Cancer Institute (RPCI).

According to Victor J. Viola, acting Area General Manager for Cricket, the company will donate a percentage of sales to Roswell Park now through September 30. Customers also may make a difference for cancer patients by purchasing green Cricket Cares bracelets for $3 at any Western New York Cricket store.

Beginning tomorrow evening at WYRK's Taste of Country Jamboree at Dunn Tire Park, and throughout the summer at the Molson Canal Concert Series in North Tonawanda, each person who buys a bracelet will receive a $25 gift certificate toward phone activation and a free ring tone of their choice.

"We are excited about our new partnership with RPCI and feel that the Cricket Cares program has unlimited potential to raise significant money for a very respected and important cause in our community," explained Viola. "Roswell Park's research is making inroads each day leading to cures and new hope; cancer touches us all, and we wanted to be a part of that progress."

Watch for additional public appearances by Cricket Cares throughout the summer.
