Roger Mason Jr. Chooses Cricket for Cellular and Mobile Broadband Service
San Antonio, Texas – February 24, 2009 – San Antonio’s newest guard Roger Mason Jr. announced today a new partnership through which he will be endorsing a wireless provider. Mason agreed to endorse Cricket, a leading provider of unlimited wireless and broadband services.
“Building a relationship with Cricket was a natural fit for me because Cricket is a company that cares about its customers. Not only does Cricket save its customers money by offering a flat-rate, quality phone option for about half the cost of other companies, but they are also very involved in the community, which is important to me. Soon we’ll show San Antonio why they have every reason to be excited, both about the rest of the basketball season and about Cricket’s products and services.”
Mason will be heavily involved with Cricket’s community and non-profit activities. He is also a Cricket customer and has unlimited anytime minutes, unlimited text and picture messaging and unlimited long distance. In addition, he is using Cricket’s Mobile Broadband service on his laptop computer. Cricket has provided unlimited high-speed wireless internet service in San Antonio since September 2008.
“I couldn’t be more excited about Roger endorsing Cricket. Naturally I’m thrilled to have someone of his caliber on board, and I’ve been impressed with his skills and attitude on and off the court,” said Ryan Jones, district director for Cricket. “Cricket is a great fit for San Antonio’s community and lifestyle, and I’m eager to work with Roger Mason Jr. in the months ahead to find new ways for his fans to benefit from Cricket’s unlimited, no-contract plans.”
Roger Mason Jr. has established himself as a heavy contributor with the Spurs with his 3-point shooting prowess currently at over 44% and was one of only four players selected to compete in the 3-Point competition at the recent All-Star game. Mason has already had four game-winning shots since he signed with San Antonio. He signed a two-year contract as a free agent with San Antonio on July 11, 2008 and has been playing in the NBA since the 2002 season when he was drafted by the Chicago Bulls with the 31st overall draft pick.
