New 70-Foot Tower to Improve Cell Phone Coverage in Magna; Portion of Lease Proceeds to Benefit Matheson Junior High School
SALT LAKE CITY – Aug. 16, 2006 - Cricket Communications, Inc., a leading provider of unlimited wireless services, today announced the completion of a 70-foot cell phone tower at Scott M. Matheson Jr. High School in Magna.

Initial tests of the new tower have demonstrated drastic improvements in east Magna and along 7200 West. In addition, the traffic load on the site has increased suggesting service is available in outlying areas where a signal was not previously accessible.
“The new tower is located in a more central location and is well above the tree line and at least 10 feet higher than any of our competitors. It will provide our strong concentration of Cricket subscribers in the Magna area with the very best coverage available,” said Nitu Arora, area vice president for Cricket. “We are committed to providing a greatly enhanced signal throughout this busy residential and business district, as well as being good corporate citizens through partnerships with entities like Matheson Jr. High School.”
Construction of the new tower included building a storage facility which is being shared with Matheson Junior High School for storage of athletic equipment and other items. Additionally, the proceeds of Cricket’s lease of the space will benefit both the junior high and Granite School District.
