Huge Plasma TVs Demonstrate That Albuquerque and Santa Fe Residents Can Get Online Anywhere in Town

ALBUQUERQUE – October 3, 2007 – Cricket Communications, Inc, a leading provider of unlimited wireless services, will be staging demonstrations of Cricket Wireless Internet Service in several busy intersections today. A live feed of someone using a laptop in outrageous places around town will be shown on a huge 9x12 foot plasma television, demonstrating that Cricket customers can get online virtually anywhere in Albuquerque and Santa Fe.

You can see these demonstrations at the intersections of Wyoming and Montgomery NE from 7:00-8:00 a.m., Carlisle and Central NE from 9:00-10:00 a.m., Jefferson and Paseo del Norte NE from 11:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m., Copper and 3rd NW from 1:00-2:00 p.m., Lomas and Roma from 3:00-4:00 p.m. and San Mateo and Montgomery NE from 5:00-6:00 p.m.

“The live feed will demonstrate that you can get high speed wireless internet service for your laptop from virtually anywhere in town. The laptop user can check out news, sports, balloon festival details, videos, music, check their email or anything else on the Net,” said Regan Anderson, interim district director for Cricket in Albuquerque. “You wouldn’t surf the net at these busy intersections, but you could with Cricket Wireless Internet Service.”

Cricket Wireless Internet Service offers Albuquerque and Santa Fe residents the freedom to access the Internet anywhere in Cricket’s coverage area, essentially turning the entire town into a “hot spot.”  The monthly service is just $35 per month, $30 for existing Cricket mobile phone customers, and there are no signed contracts.

“Research shows that many residents don’t know that you can have high speed wireless Internet for your laptop without having to find a hot spot or WIFI signal. We will be out at these busy intersections to educate the Albuquerque/Santa Fe community about their Internet choices and to introduce them to high speed wireless internet access virtually anywhere in town,” said Edye Popke, Cricket area general manager. “Whether they’re surfing while they shop or posting from a park bench, Cricket’s got everyone covered.”
