Hello Fresno! Cricket® Brings Unlimited Wireless Alternative to Fresno Residents Talk All You Want for One, Low, Flat Rate
FRESNO, Calif. - Wireless industry trend-setter Cricket Communications, Inc., a leading provider of unlimited wireless services, today announced that it will begin offering service to the Fresno area starting tomorrow, August 2, 2005. With the addition of the Fresno market, Cricket will provide a Central Valley wireless footprint for one low, flat rate that extends south to the Visalia area and north to Modesto and Merced.
"We are thrilled to finally call Fresno home," said Jeff Slarks, area general manager for Cricket's Central Valley. "We've had our eyes set on the Fresno market for quite some time and are pleased to be launching service in the market, allowing us to expand our footprint in the Central Valley to nearly 5,400 square miles. We're a different kind of wireless company with flat-rate, unlimited plans and no long-term contracts required. And between our Cricket direct retail stores and indirect retail dealers across the Central Valley, we are ready to offer Fresno residents an affordable, high-quality alternative to meet their wireless needs."
To kick off its launch tomorrow, Cricket is opening two direct retail stores in Fresno: 6460 N. Blackstone Ave and 4993 E. Kings Canyon. In addition, Cricket service will be sold through 50 indirect retailers throughout the area.
"Being involved in the communities we serve is extremely important to Cricket, so we have a fun-filled, jam-packed week of events to meet and greet the great residents of Fresno," said Slarks. "From unlimited hot-air balloon rides to announcing our partnership with the Grizzlies and the City of Fresno to improve a park in Southeast Fresno for residents to enjoy, we can't wait to begin serving the community."
