Gary Clayton Joins Cricket as East Tennessee District Director
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – Oct. 21, 2008 – Gary Clayton has joined Cricket Communications Inc., a leading provider of unlimited wireless services, as district director for East Tennessee. In his new position, he will oversee Cricket’s sales and operations in Knoxville and Chattanooga.
“Gary has been very successful working in markets across Tennessee. In his most recent position, as a wireless sales manager in Memphis, he exceeded sales quotas eight years in a row,” said Jane Hutson, Cricket area general manager. “I’m confident he will produce even greater results in Knoxville and Chattanooga, two very important markets for Cricket. We look forward to having him on the East Tennessee Cricket team.”
Clayton has almost a decade of experience in the wireless industry. Prior to joining Cricket, he served as a sales manager for Sprint in Memphis, where he was responsible for day-to-day operations and market growth. Before this position, he was an account executive for Sprint in Nashville and Chattanooga. Prior to working in the wireless industry, Clayton worked in advertising and insurance sales. Clayton began his professional career at the YMCA of Metropolitan Knoxville, where worked for six years, including three years as program director/associate director.
“It’s great to be back in East Tennessee, where I first started working,” said Clayton. “I know this area well and hope to use the experience I gained in larger Tennessee markets to make Knoxville and Chattanooga even stronger for Cricket.”
Clayton graduated from the University of Tennessee in Knoxville with a bachelor’s degree in sociology.
