Free Web Cams Help Military & Families Celebrate Holidays Together

EL PASO – December 17, 2008 – Being alone during the holiday season is very difficult.  Sometimes it helps just to see your loved one and friends and be able to talk to them, but many families in our community have extra expenses during the holidays, don’t have high speed Internet service and cannot afford long distance calls. That is why Cricket Broadband service has partnered with First Choice Wireless and is inviting military families and the public the chance to see and talk to their family and friends this holiday season for free.
Families will be able to use the Web Cam to see and talk to loved ones and friends from a private seating area at First Choice Wireless at 1611 Marshall Rd. on December 22 and 23, from 9:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. The web cam will be limited to one five-minute connection per person.  The web cam will allow users to connect with family and friends across the United States, and in countries such as Mexico, Iraq, Afghanistan, Korea or any other Cricket international calling area.
“El Paso has many military families that will be separated during the holidays and do not have the means to see each other or call. The web cams are part of our celebration of offering high speed broadband in the Paso del Norte Region and in appreciation of our military’s sacrifices and to help bring joy to families that cannot be together during the holidays,” stated James Moak, area general manager for Cricket.
