Dayton Bombers and Cincinnati Cyclones Compete for 2007-8 Cricket Cup

DAYTON ― October 9, 2007―A local rivalry heats up this week, as the Dayton Bombers and Cincinnati Cyclones once again compete for the Cricket Cup. The two Ohio teams will face each other twelve times in the 2007-08 season, and the team to come out on top will receive the cup from Cricket Communications, Inc, a leading provider of unlimited wireless services. Last Season the inaugural Cricket Cup was won by the Cyclones, with 7 games to 5. Both teams open their 2007 – 08 season with a game at the Nutter Center in Dayton at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, October 10.

Each time a goal is scored during any of the Cricket Cup games, Cricket will donate $25 to the Make-a-Wish Foundation, an organization that grants the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions. Last year, $1,500 was presented to Make-a-Wish as the result of 51 Cricket Cup goals.

About the Bombers
Entering their 17th season in the ECHL, the Dayton Bombers are one of the premier player development teams in the league. The Bombers were the ECHL American Conference champions last year, but were defeated by the Idaho Steelheads in the final playoff round. With home ice at the EJ Nutter Center on the campus of Wright State University, the Bombers are the proud AA affiliate of the NHL’s Columbus Blue Jackets and the AHL’s Syracuse Crunch. The Cincinnati Cyclones returned to the ice at U.S. Bank Arena last season after a two-year hiatus.
