Cricket’s MOTOTM VE465 Offers Durability in Stylish, Feature-Rich 3G Phone
SAN DIEGO – September 2, 2009 – Cricket Communications, Inc., a leading provider of unlimited wireless services and a wholly-owned subsidiary of Leap Wireless International, Inc. (NASDAQ:LEAP), announces the availability of the MOTO VE465, a durable, yet stylish clamshell phone.
MOTO VE465 was designed to withstand heavy use - built to military specification 810F (mil spec lite) for shock, dust, vibration, solar radiation and altitude – while still offering the stylish features desired by active mobile users. VE465 is Cricket’s first phone built to mil spec lite standards. The phone features a 1.3MP camera/camcorder, an MP3 player with external music touch controls plus a microSD memory card slot and stereo Bluetooth®, as well as tri-band connectivity and 3G Mobile Web browsing. MOTO VE465 is the fifth 3G device that Cricket has introduced this year to offer customers access to Cricket’s fast data network.
“Cricket customers are heavy mobile users, averaging 1500 minutes of talk time each month and more than 23 calls per day, more than three times the average for prepaid customers. Consumers who use their phones as such an important part of their daily communications demand a highly durable handset that can sustain heavy usage. Yet they don’t want to compromise on style and features,” said Matt Stoiber, vice president and general manager of devices for Cricket. “MOTO VE465 offers that durability in an stylish form factor with a wide array of features, such as an MP3 player and 1.3MP camera and camcorder for our customers’ mobile lifestyles.”
“MOTO VE465 is a great match for Cricket’s customers,” said Dan Papalia, vice president, Motorola Mobile Devices. “It delivers the best of both worlds - a durable, eye-catching design and features that keep Cricket’s customers entertained and in touch while taking full advantage of Cricket’s unlimited offerings, such as texting, picture messaging and Mobile Web.”
MOTO VE46 will be available starting tomorrow September 3, 2009 at Cricket retail stores and dealers for $199.99. For more information, please visit www.mycricket.com or www.motorola.com.
