Cricket® Crawl for Big Brothers Big Sisters Comes to Westport
Kansas City, MO – September 20, 2006 – Saturday nights in Westport almost always guarantee some unique sights and sounds, but this Saturday, September 23, Westport will be hoppin’ with something Kansas City natives have never seen before. Cricket, in conjunction with Mix 93.3, Star 102 & Q104, is proud to present the first annual Cricket Crawl through Westport. All proceeds, including a $5,000 donation from Cricket will benefit Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Kansas City.
From 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. on the 23rd, bar-hoppers will just need to follow their drink-special thirsty antennas to one of three participating bars, The Beaumont Club, One 80 and Americas Pub. These bars will be selling light-up green ice cubes and cups for Cricket specials including the chance to taste the newest drink in town: The Cricketini, a Kansas City original.
Other events surrounding the Cricket Crawl will be a FREE concert outside the Beaumont Club at 8 p.m. with artists Carolina Rain and Sarah Buxton. Also, there will be great Cricket giveaways, including the chance to win a 2007 v6 Ford Mustang and information on how to get involved with Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Kansas City.
“Big Brothers and Big Sisters seemed to be a great local tie-in for this event,” said Kansas City District Manager Carmen Cunnyngham. “This organization offers such a great program in the Kansas City area and we are excited to give back to them.”
Cricket will officially launch into the Kansas City market on October 3 with a featured cell phone plan offering unlimited anytime minutes, U.S. long distance, text messaging, instant messaging and picture messaging for only $45 per month.
