Cricket Sponsorship Deal with Tucson Toros Keeps Ticket Prices Low

Tucson – April 17 2009 –The Tucson Toros announced on Friday that Cricket Communications, Inc, a leading provider of unlimited wireless services, will become their official wireless and broadband sponsor for the 2009 season. Corporate sponsorships such as this help the organization maintain low ticket prices and provide an affordable entertainment option during the economic downturn.

The Cricket sponsorship will include interactive promotions, giveaways and special Cricket offers available on game days only, as well as outfield signage. “We are excited to partner with the Tucson Toros.  Our partnership is a great opportunity for us to give back to the community that has contributed to our growth,” said Randy McCutchan, district director for Cricket.

The Toros’s fan base has grown in the past year since they became an expansion team in the independent Golden Baseball League. May 27 will be the official opening day with a home game against the Chico (CA) Outlaws. Tucson is expected to host at least 44 home games.  The team will celebrate the 40th anniversary of their formation this season.

Cricket has provided wireless services in Tucson since 2007 and now has 5 stores and 45 dealer locations. Cricket’ Southern Arizona service area includes Nogales, the I-19 corridor, up to Picacho Peak on the I-10. Cricket’s Premium Extended Coverage also includes Vail, Rita Ranch, Sahuarita, Three Points, Avra Valley, Picture Rocks and West of the Tucson Mountains. Cricket added unlimited mobile broadband service in Tucson, Marana and Nogales in November 2008.
