Cricket Registers More Than 600 Voters in Middle Tennessee

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Aug. 28, 2008 – Cricket Communications Inc, a leading provider of unlimited wireless services, has registered more than 600 voters through an in-store initiative that began in May. Cricket customers and anyone else visiting Cricket stores in Nashville, Chattanooga and Knoxville can register to vote in the upcoming presidential election through Oct 3.

“One vote can make a difference,” said Jane Hutson, Cricket area general manager. “As the election gets closer and the excitement builds, we are seeing more of our customers being proactive and registering to vote. We couldn’t be more pleased about how things are going.”

Cricket recently partnered with Declare Yourself, an organization dedicated to encouraging young people to vote.

“Our customers – especially our young customers – want to be heard in November,” said Hutson. “We are proud to encourage their participation in the democratic process and hope many more will come to the stores or events and get registered.”

Customers and non-customers can visit these Cricket stores to register:
• Green Hills – 3900 Hillsboro Road Suite 20, Nashville
• Hickory Hollow – 5251 Hickory Hollow Parkway, Antioch
• Rivergate – 796 Rivergate Parkway, Goodlettsville
• Isaiah’s Landing – 4947 Millertown Pike, Knoxville
• Lee Highway – 6219 Lee Highway Suite 2, Chattanooga

Cricket will also offer voter registration at public events throughout the fall, including the Tennessee State Fair, John Merritt Classic and Tennessee State University homecoming.

In Tennessee, to be eligible to vote, you must be a citizen of the United States, have reached your 18th birthday by Nov. 4, 2008 and not be disqualified by law. First time voters must be registered 30 days before the election. Cricket stores will provide registration forms, assistance with filling out the forms and submit completed forms to the election commission by Oct. 3, 2008.
