Cricket Puts Pedal to the Metal with Sponsorship Of Race Series
HOUSTON - March 26, 2009 – Cricket Communications, Inc, a leading provider of unlimited wireless services, announces its sponsorship of Houston Motorsports Park including Fiesta Speedfest ‘09, NASCAR Cricket Modified Series, Cricket Anniversary Celebration, and Fiesta Texas Monster Shootout.
“Cricket recently launched its new high-speed, broadband Internet service, so what better way to demonstrate high-speed than to sponsor a motorsports series,” said Doug Ahrens, area general manager of Cricket. “This sponsorship also provides us the opportunity to connect with Cricket customers and potential customers. In today’s economy, Houstonians are seeking ways to save money to make their dollars go further, and Cricket is America’s most economical 3G network.”
To further leverage its sponsorship of the motor speedway, Cricket is launching the Cricket Fantasy Driver Challenge. The season-long promotion invites race fans to visit www.mycrickethouston.com to select the NASCAR Fiesta Late Model Series driver they think will lead the point standings. The winner will be chosen at random to receive an exhilarating day behind the wheel at the Richard Petty Experience at Talladega Motor Speedway.
“Houston Motorsports Park is delighted to have Cricket as a presenting sponsor of this season’s NASCAR Pro Modified Series,” commented John Mandabach, vice president of Houston Motorsports Park. “Race fans appreciate a quality product at a reasonable price, which makes Cricket a great fit for the Park and our patrons.”
In addition to the one-year presenting sponsorship agreement, Cricket has also become a sponsor of the NASCAR late model car number 28, the 2008 Chevrolet Monte Carlo driven by Hannah Baker, one of only two female drivers in the series. The Chevrolet Monte Carlo will be branded with the vibrant green Cricket logo and eye-catching graphics.
