Cricket Provided Fun and Flight at Arc Race on September 9

LIVERPOOL, NY – September 12, 2006 - Cricket Communications, Inc., a leading provider of unlimited wireless service, offered people the chance to take a balloon ride at  the 12th annual Arc Race on September 9. The Cricket Cares balloon provided $5 hot-air balloon rides to approximately 20 Arc Race participants and spectators at Long Branch Park in Liverpool.

“The Arc Race is an event that we’ve been supporting for years, and we wanted to add a little something extra this year,” said Carol Francisco, district director for Cricket. “The Cricket Cares balloon is a fun activity for families to participate in, so it was a great fit for this event. Plus, we were able to raise a significant amount of money for a very important cause.” Proceeds from Cricket’s hot-air balloon rides were donated to Arc of Onondaga, which assists individuals with developmental disabilities to achieve their fullest potential.

Mike Melfi of Syracuse and Kristen White of Liverpool, male and female winners of the half-marathon race, each took home top prizes from Cricket – a free phone with three months of service. The Cricket tent provided even more excitement – with prize wheel spins giving families the chance to win Cricket premiums and one lucky participant a chance to win a phone.

“As a race sponsor, we wanted to offer the entire Cricket experience
to everyone who attended. From the balloon rides and t-shirts to mini radios and lanyards, we were thrilled to help make the Arc Race a great time for everyone,” said Francisco.
