Cricket Partners with Rebuilding Together to Refurbish Home in Sunnyside
HOUSTON – April 22, 2009 – Cricket Communications, Inc, a leading provider of unlimited wireless services, has partnered with Rebuilding Together, the nation’s leading nonprofit working to revitalize communities by providing free home rehabilitation to those in need, to refurbish a home located on Elberta Street in the Sunnyside neighborhood. More than 90 Cricket volunteers will donate their time over two weekends to help replace wooden boards and siding, install a wheelchair ramp and replace an exterior door among many other repairs and improvements to make the home safer and more energy-efficient.
Additionally, Sunnyside residents are invited to join Cricket on Saturday, April 25, from noon until 4 p.m. for a neighborhood block party on Elberta Street. Cricket will provide free hot dogs and hamburgers from noon to 2 p.m. From 2 – 4 p.m. KBXX’s DJ Ron EG with the Krackernuttz will be on hand, in addition to music, games, activities, snow cones and prizes for the entire family.
