Cricket Partners with McGruff and Fresno Police Department to ID Children Today

FRESNO, CALIF. – September 6, 2008 – Cricket Communications, Inc, a leading provider of unlimited wireless services, is partnering with McGruff the crime dog and the Fresno Police Department to provide families with free ChoicePrint™ child identification kits today at the Cricket store located at 6460 N. Blackstone Ave., Ste. 101 in Fresno. Children will have the opportunity to meet McGruff the crime dog and view a police car from up-close.

“Cricket cares about families in our community, and we want to do everything we can to help keep children safe,” said Matt Pulley, Cricket area general manager for the Central Valley. “No family ever wants to experience a lost or missing child, but we hope that the child ID kits that we are giving out today can help parents to be prepared in case they ever need it. Having all the important information in one easy place can help police to find the missing child quickly and safely.”

The ID kits contain all the crucial information that helps police to find a lost or missing child, including a photograph, dental records, medical information, personal information, DNA hair sample, fingerprints, and physical information.

“We are glad to see a company like Cricket take an active interest in the safety of this community,” stated Ying Vang, community service officer for the Fresno Police Department. “Having this type of identifying information from the beginning of a search can make a huge difference in how quickly we are able to locate missing children. We hope that families will take advantage of these ID kits from Cricket.”

In addition to the kits there will be a bounce house, a clown, food, drinks, giveaways and much more.
