Cricket Opens New Retail Location in Asheboro, N.C.
ASHEBORO, N.C. — July 2, 2008 — Cricket Communication, Inc, celebrated the grand opening of its newest retail location in Asheboro on June 13. The new store is an exclusive Cricket dealer, owned and operated by Hello Wireless Inc, located at 346 N. Fayetteville Street. Cricket hosted a free family-friendly event for the community to celebrate with food, music, face painting, contests and giveaways. In addition, Cricket gave away 30 wireless phones with two months of unlimited Cricket service included, and two lucky attendees, Jason Johnson and Larry Sanders, walked away with $600 each in cash. The event, which lasted from 3:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m., attracted approximately 400 local residents.
“We decided to celebrate the opening of the store with a big event that was designed to be fun and to give back to the Asheboro community,” said Lynn Parks, indirect account manager for Cricket. “We thought that giving away the two $600 cash prizes was a great way to remind people of the fact that Cricket’s unlimited service can give you $600 savings on your wireless bill each year.”
