Cricket Offers Fun and Flight at Arc Race in Buffalo
LIVERPOOL, NY – September 7, 2006 – Cricket Communications, Inc., a leading provider of unlimited wireless service, will be offering people a chance to take to the skies during the 12th annual Arc Race on September 9. The Cricket Cares balloon will provide $5 hot-air balloon rides from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. to Arc participants and spectators. Each ride will last approximately five minutes. The race and balloon rides will be held at Long Branch Park in Liverpool, with the Cricket tent and hot-air balloon located near the Park’s baseball field.
“The Arc Race is an event that we’ve been supporting for years, and we wanted to add a little something extra this year,” said Carol Francisco, district director for Cricket. “The Cricket Cares balloon is a fun activity for families to participate in, so it’s a great fit for this event. Plus, we have the opportunity to raise more funds for a very important cause.” Proceeds from Cricket’s hot-air balloon rides will be donated to Arc of Onondaga County, which assists individuals with developmental disabilities to achieve their fullest potential.
Cricket is also providing both the male and female winners of the half-marathon race with free Cricket phones and one month of service. The Cricket prize wheel will be set up, offering Cricket lanyards, t-shirts and a chance to win a phone. “As a race sponsor, we wanted to offer the entire Cricket experience to everyone who attends. We’re excited about helping to make this event fun for everyone,” said Francisco.
