Cricket Named One of Top 100 Companies to Work For by SaVoy Professional Magazine
SAN DIEGO – March 26, 2009 – Cricket Communications, Inc, a leading provider of unlimited wireless services and a wholly-owned subsidiary of Leap Wireless International, Inc. (NASDAQ: LEAP), has been named one of the Top 100 Companies to Work For by SaVoy Professional magazine for its diversity efforts.
SaVoy Professional magazine selected the top 100 companies to work for based on extensive external research of Fortune 500, S&P 500, large Non-Profit organizations, government agencies and the Top 100 largest private companies. Each company’s employee growth, sales growth, management philosophy, diversity outreach efforts, methods of external and internal communications, job opportunities and foundation outreach efforts were considered.
Cricket was selected largely based on its commitment to diversity. The Company has an established Diversity Council which leads the development, implementation and measurement of diversity, inclusion and cultural awareness action plans. The council is comprised of business and operational leaders from across the company and is overseen by a recently appointed director of diversity inclusion and culture initiatives. It is supported by a diversity executive committee comprised of senior executives and diversity core groups to drive initiatives at the departmental level. Additionally, the Company has created a diversity newsletter, annual award and requires that each employee undergoes diversity and inclusion training.
“We value and encourage the contributions of our employees and strive to create an environment where everyone can reach their full potential, driving outstanding results and delivering measurable benefits to our employees, customers and shareholders,” said Dawn Martin, director of diversity inclusion and culture initiatives. “The steps Cricket has taken to drive its diversity and inclusion strategy across the organization are evidence of its solid senior leadership commitment.”
