Cricket Launches Unlimited Wireless Services, Bringing Jobs to Milwaukee
MILWAUKEE – November 18, 2008 – Cricket Communications, Inc, a leading provider of unlimited wireless services, is now offering its predictable and affordable mobile phone service in the greater Milwaukee area. Cricket’s unlimited, flat rate service, which does not require contracts or credit checks, provides a simple wireless solution to Milwaukee consumers.
Cricket rate plans range from $30 to $60 a month, and include unlimited anytime minutes, unlimited U.S. long distance, unlimited text and picture messaging, unlimited text to Mexico, unlimited Mobile Web, unlimited directory assistance, nationwide roaming minutes and more – all without requiring signed contracts or credit checks.
In addition to unlimited mobile phone services, Cricket is also offering Cricket Broadband, allowing customers unlimited Internet access anywhere in Cricket’s coverage areas on their desktop or laptop computers. The Cricket monthly broadband service plan is just $35 per month for customers who also have Cricket’s low-cost unlimited voice plans, and $40 per month as a stand-alone service.

Cricket’s launch in Wisconsin includes Racine, Kenosha and Madison in addition to Milwaukee.
Community Events
To celebrate the launch, Cricket is hosting a series of events and promotions with the intention of spreading some Cricket cheer just in time for the holidays. Cricket has already kicked off its launch celebration and has activities planned throughout November:
• Election Day, Tuesday, November 4 - offered free bus rides at select Milwaukee County Transit stops.
• Tuesday, November 18 - celebratory community “cord cuttings” will be held at the S. Layton Blvd. location at 11:30 a.m. and at the Fond du Lac Ave. location at 1:30 p.m.
• Friday, November 21 - The first 100 people at each of Cricket’s four stores receive a free frozen turkey, just in time for Thanksgiving. (5444 W. Fond du Lac Ave.; 8311 W. Brown Deer Rd.; 745 S. Layton Blvd.; and 7995 W. Layton Ave. in Greenfield).
• Tuesday, November 25 - Cricket will send 100 lucky Milwaukeeans into the holiday weekend with a free tank of gas.
Cricket is also partnering locally with the Milwaukee Wave’s “Making Waves” program; a comprehensive educational program developed to teach kids how to make wise choices using soccer as a vehicle to demonstrate the lessons. Making Waves benefits children ages 5-14 in schools across Wisconsin through player in-school assemblies, curriculum, and school day games.
