Cricket Launches High-Speed Wireless Internet Service in Reno and Boise
RENO and BOISE – June 19, 2008 – Reno and Boise now have a new option for high-speed wireless Internet access, as Cricket launched its wireless Internet service today. Cricket Wireless Internet Service provides customers with unlimited high-speed wireless Internet service anywhere in Cricket coverage areas on their laptop or desktop computers.
As with Cricket’s cell-phone plans, Cricket Wireless Internet customers never have to sign a contract to take advantage of the unlimited monthly access. The service costs $35 per month for existing Cricket mobile phone customers and $40 per month for non-customers. The UTStarcom UM100C tri-band USB modem is available for $99 with a combination of instant and mail-in rebates. Cricket Wireless Internet Service customers can get online anywhere in Reno and Boise's coverage area.
“We’ve provided Reno and Boise with a fresh alternative to cellular service since 2001, and our Wireless Internet Service provides the same, unique freedom of no contracts and unlimited service,” said Neal VanCitters, district director for Cricket. “This is an exciting evolution for our company, and we’re excited to offer residents a wireless internet service without limits.”
