Cricket Hosts Medic Blood Drive as Part of Annual Customer Appreciation Day
KNOXVILLE – September 26, 2007 – Cricket Communications Inc, a leading provider of unlimited wireless services, will host a Medic blood drive and customer appreciation day featuring FREE food, door prizes, games and activities for children, one-day-only specials for new and existing Cricket customers and a live radio broadcast. This event is free and open to the public, including non-Cricket customers, and will be held on Saturday, September 29, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Cricket’s Isaiah's Landing store, located at 4947 Millertown Pike.
“We always look forward to Customer Appreciation Day, but this one in particular is going to be very special,” said Rafael Gomez, Cricket district director for East Tennessee. “The whole community is invited to come out, celebrate with Cricket and help save lives by donating blood.”
“Cricket has always maintained an important role in this community by forming partnerships with non-profit organizations, such as this one, that help give back,” said Jim Decker, Medic executive director. “We want to thank Cricket for their eagerness to join us and host this blood drive.”
Free donuts and Starbucks coffee will be provided in the morning, Fats BBQ sandwiches will be given out from 1 to 3 p.m., and additional snacks will be available throughout the day. Children will enjoy inflatables, games and special kids prizes. Door prizes, including Motorola and Kyocera gift packs, cell phones and cell phone accessories, will be given out each hour to event participants.
“Cricket is thankful to have so many loyal customers that are willing help others,” said Gomez. “That’s why we are excited to treat them to a special event full of fun, food and free giveaways.”
Medic is an independent, not-for-profit blood center that serves volunteer donors in Knoxville and its surrounding communities and handles blood collection, testing and distribution.
