Cricket Helps Greene County Family in Need at Christmas
DAYTON - December 28, 2007 - Cricket Communications, Inc, a leading provider of unlimited wireless services, put their holiday spirit into action by “adopting” a Xenia family that could use a little help at the holidays. The family of three, which includes two toddlers, was selected with the help of the Greene County Domestic Violence Prevention Center.
Money was donated by Cricket employees throughout the Dayton area. Cricket also offered customers an incentive to contribute, offering a $10 discount for each $5 donation. The money was used to purchase gifts for the family, which were wrapped and delivered to the Domestic Violence Prevention Center by Chandra Gentry, retail business manager for two local Cricket stores.
“I researched some area organizations and found the Greene County Domestic Violence Prevention Center. They do great work and I was touched by the plight of the women and families they serve,” said Gentry. “My own four-year-old daughter helped me purchase and wrap all the gifts, and it was a learning experience for both of us.”
