Cricket Communications Offers Buffalo Relief from High Gas Prices
BUFFALO, NY – August 10, 2006 – Cricket Communications, Inc., a leading provider of unlimited wireless service, will give people in Western New York a break from paying high gas prices at the pump. On Tuesday, August 15, starting at 10 a.m., the first 200 vehicles at NOCO Express at 2150 George Urban Boulevard in Depew can fill up for 99¢ a gallon, up to 15 gallons of regular gas. The average price in the Buffalo Niagara region has climbed to $3.10, according to the AAA Daily Fuel Gauge.
“If you have a 15 gallon tank, you may save more than $30,” said John Noelker, area general manager for Cricket®. “We wanted to do something practical to thank Western New Yorkers for all their support. The high gas prices have created hardships for many hard working people so we thought we would offer some temporary relief, with a 99¢ a gallon promotion at a NOCO Express store.”
Cricket ran a similar promotion when it entered the Buffalo market. “In 2002, we partnered with NOCO to offer customers free gas. People responded well and lined up to participate. Considering the hike in prices over the last couple of years, we’re confident our 99¢ promotion will be received well,” said Noelker.
