Cricket Communications Comes to Hopkinsville, Kentucky

HOPKINSVILLE, Ky. – July 24, 2006 – Cricket Communications Inc., a leading provider of unlimited wireless services, will continue its nationwide expansion by bringing service this week to Hopkinsville.

“We’re very excited to offer affordable, unlimited wireless plans to the Hopkinsville community,” said Bill Boyce, Cricket’s district director for Middle Tennessee. “We’re ready to make Hop-town, Cricket-town.”

Hopkinsville will receive excellent coverage made possible through the latest in wireless technology. Cricket customers will enjoy a large local calling area that includes Hopkinsville and its surrounding communities, as well as Clarksville and Nashville, Tenn.

“Extending the local calling area into Middle Tennessee is an incredible benefit for Hopkinsville Cricket customers,” said Boyce. “It’s great service at a great value. No other wireless provider comes close to what Cricket has to offer.”

Cricket will celebrate their new presence in Hopkinsville with many special events, including:

o Thursday, July 27 through Saturday, July 29 at the Oak Grove Wal-Mart, 14800 Fort Campbell Blvd.: Free domestic and international long distance calls to members of the United States military and their immediate family. Free, unlimited long distance calls can be made to Iraq, Germany, Iran, Saudi Arabia, South Korea and the United States as well as many additional international locations where soldiers are based in the U.S. and overseas.

o Friday, July 28 at the Main Street Grill, 115 East Ninth Street, Hopkinsville: Free unlimited iced tea at the popular downtown restaurant, courtesy of Cricket.

o Saturday, July 29 at Lic’s Deli & Ice Cream, 2303 Fort Campbell Blvd.: Free scoops of mint chocolate chip ice cream, courtesy of Cricket. (Why mint chocolate chip? Because it’s green, which is Cricket’s trademark color.)

o Saturday, July 29, Bradford Square Mall, 4000 Fort Campbell Blvd.: Debut appearance by the Cricket Green Team – a troupe of actors and acrobats who entertain folks for free. The Hopkinsville appearance will be the debut performance of this innovative and entertaining group. (The Green Team will also appear at Lic’s Deli & Ice Cream earlier in the day.)

There will also be plenty of contests, prizes and other surprises throughout the week. “Cricket is about having fun and sharing with others – without worrying about paying too much on your wireless phone, because we offer unlimited talk time.,” Boyce said. “So, we like to have when we open a new market. We are very excited about coming to Hopkinsville, where we foresee a lot of interest in what Cricket has to offer.”
