Cricket Celebrates Year of Growth and Value in Oklahoma City

OKLAHOMA CITY – April 15, 2009 – Cricket Communications, Inc, a leading provider of unlimited wireless services, recently celebrated ten years as a company and one year in Oklahoma City. To mark this milestone, Cricket has opened new dealer locations to better serve customers, will give back to the community by sponsoring and providing volunteers for a project with Rebuilding Together, and continues to offer better value for Oklahoma City consumers.

Cricket service was first available in Chattanooga, Tenn., on March 17, 1999, and has since grown to serve more than four million customers in 32 states. Cricket first came to Oklahoma City on April 8, 2008. In the past year, Cricket has become an active corporate citizen in the community, getting involved in projects such as Oklahoma City Memorial Marathon and sponsoring community days at the city swimming pools so neighborhood children can swim for free during the summer months. To continue that tradition, the Company will sponsor and provide 20 volunteers to rehabilitate the home of one Oklahoma City family in need as part of a partnership with Rebuilding Together (http://rebuildingtogether.org).

“Cricket takes pride in being an active and involved member of the Oklahoma City community. From working with local nonprofit organizations, to bringing and keeping new jobs to the area, and providing the best value in wireless services to our customers, we work hard to give back to the community,” said Troy McDaniel, district director for Cricket. “In these uncertain economic times, families and consumers are looking for ways to better manage their budget. Cricket offers affordable and predictable wireless services, which in many cases save customers as much as $600 a year compared to other wireless carriers. Those savings are significant, especially now.”

Cricket wireless service includes unlimited anytime minutes, unlimited U.S. long distance, unlimited text and picture messaging, unlimited text to Mexico, unlimited Mobile Web access, unlimited directory assistance, Premium Extended Coverage, as well as features such as Mobile Video, Mobile Music, downloadable ringtones, games and wallpapers, and international long distance.  Rate plans range from $30 to $60 monthly, and do not require contracts or credit checks, offering residents a more flexible and affordable wireless option.

Cricket Broadband provides a high-speed wireless Internet service anywhere in Cricket coverage areas on their laptop or desktop computers. As with Cricket’s cell-phone plans, Cricket Broadband customers never have to sign a contract to take advantage of the unlimited monthly access. The service costs $35 per month for existing Cricket mobile phone customers and $40 per month as a standalone service.

Cricket products and services are now available at 15 new exclusive dealer locations across the greater Oklahoma City area. They include: 2505 S.W. 29th St, 9356 S. Western St, 2901 N.
