Cricket Announces National "Casting Call" for Wireless Customers

NASHVILLE - Cricket® customers love their phones. That's why, on St. Patrick's Day, Cricket Communications, Inc., a leading provider of unlimited wireless services, is giving its Middle Tennessee customers an opportunity to share their stories - and perhaps appear in national radio ads and marketing materials.

The Cricket casting call will be held from 2 to 8 p.m. on Friday, March 17 at Greer Stadium, home of the Nashville Sounds AAA baseball team. A Los Angeles casting director, looking for customers to be a part of the company's national advertising, will interview selected customers who have compelling testimonials about their Cricket service. But the event isn't just about getting on the radio.

"March 17 is Cricket's birthday," said Bill Boyce, Middle Tennessee District Director with Cricket, "We're making this a customer appreciation event as well as a commercial casting call. There will be games, prizes, food, hot air balloon rides, giveaways and activities for the kids. It's going to be a blast - and free to all of our customers."

Several local radio stations will host live remotes from the event during the day. Ozzie, the Nashville Sounds mascot, will be on hand for photos with the kids. The Sounds will also be providing free food and drinks. Cricket's massive, colorful hot air balloon will regularly rise from the baseball field for free, tethered rides.

Cricket customers who are interested in participating in the casting call will fill out a questionnaire asking about their wireless service. All customers, whether they are interested in participating in the casting call or not, will receive a goodie bag and are free to enjoy the entertainment, food and fun.

About two weeks after the event, some customers will be called in for a studio session in Nashville and their testimonials will be professionally recorded. Customers who get called back will receive a talent payment, a free phone and a free year of service from Cricket.

Cricket will then select about four people from this group of interviewees to be featured in radio advertisements. Those featured will receive additional residual payments.

"This is a unique way for us to get to know our customers," Boyce said. "We want them to know that we appreciate them and we like hearing from them."
