Cricket Adds New Service Offering, Expands Coverage Area and Opens New Store
SALT LAKE CITY – June 19, 2008 - Cricket Communications, Inc, a leading provider of unlimited wireless services, has increased its presence in Utah by expanding its coverage area, opening a new store and creating new jobs in Lehi. The new Cricket store is located at 945 West 500 North, directly across the parking lot from Costco.
Cricket has expanded its network coverage area to include Saratoga Springs, Eagle Mountain, Mapleton, Santaquin and Nephi. The coverage area now spans 2,100 square miles, having nearly doubled from 1,200 square miles in 2006. Customers have the freedom of unlimited wireless from Tremonton in the north to Nephi in the south and Grantsville in the west to Kamas in the east. The new retail store in Lehi is the twenty-fourth full service Cricket location in Utah, and has created seven new jobs in the community.

Additionally, Cricket launched its wireless Internet service today. Cricket Wireless Internet Service provides customers with unlimited high-speed wireless Internet service anywhere in Cricket coverage areas on their laptop or desktop computers. As with Cricket’s cell-phone plans, Cricket Wireless Internet customers never have to sign a contract to take advantage of the unlimited monthly access. The service costs $35 per month for existing Cricket mobile phone customers and $40 per month for non-customers. The UTStarcom UM100C tri-band USB modem is available for $99 with a combination of instant and mail-in rebates.
