Topping-up is how you pay!
Top-up to keep funds in your Cricket PAYGo account, so you can enjoy your Cricket PAYGo service without interruptions.
With Cricket PAYGo, you Pay-As-You-Go. Just add funds to your account (top-up), then use your phone whenever you want. We'll automatically charge you the right amount for your service when you use it. When your balance gets low, just top-up again to keep your service going!
Two Ways to Top-Up
Add Funds With a PIN
You can buy top-up cards and PINs at many Cricket PAYGo locations. Top-up cards and PINs are available in values ranging from $10 to $45, depending on retailer and region. Find a Store
If you have a top-up card or PIN already, follow the instructions on the card or receipt to add the funds to your account. If you are having trouble, please contact Customer Care at 1-800-CRICKET so we can help you.
Top-up cards make great gifts, too!
Add Funds Directly to Your Account
Some Cricket PAYGo locations don't have top-up cards or PINs. At these locations, you can add funds directly to your account without using a PIN. You can top-up your account with amounts as little as $1 and as much as $300. Depending on the Cricket PAYGo location, you can pay with cash, check, credit card, or debit card. You can also use *PAY (*729) to top-up with your credit card. Find a Store
How topping-up works
Top-up your account to keep your Cricket PAYGo account active and to pay for Cricket PAYGo services. When you top-up, you increase your Cricket PAYGo account balance to have funds available to use Cricket PAYGo services. For example, funds are needed in your account to pay your per-day plan charge on the days you use your phone.
Topping-up can also extend your Cricket PAYGo account expiration date, which applies to all funds in your Cricket PAYGo account. Each top-up makes those funds available for use for a limited time. When you top-up, your account expiration date is reset to a new expiration date based on your top-up amount or your current expiration date, whichever is later!
| Top-Up Amount | Minimum Days to Expiration |
|---|---|
| Less than $15 | One day for each whole $1 |
| $15 to $29.99 | 30 days |
| $30 or More | 60 days |
Examples:
- You have $20 in your account, and your account expiration date is tomorrow.
If you top-up today for $15, your new account balance will be $35 and your new expiration date will be 30 days from now (30 days from now is later than tomorrow). - You have $4 in your account, and your account expiration date is in 10 days.
If you top-up today for $5, your new account balance will be $9 and your expiration date will remain 10 days from now (10 days from now is later than five days from now).
If you don't top-up before your account expiration date, your account expires, and you lose any funds remaining in your account. If this happens, you have 60 days to top-up and start using your service again. If you don't top-up within 60 days of account expiration, your account will be cancelled automatically, and you will lose your Cricket PAYGo phone number.
When to top-up
When you don't have enough funds in your account for the service you want to use, you will need to top-up. For instance, if you have the $2/day plan, but your account has less than $2 in it, you'll need to top-up before you can use your phone.
You'll also want to top-up when your account is nearing expiration so you don't lose any funds in your account. You don't have to wait until the last minute. Top-up any time you like.
No surprises! When your account has less than $5 in it, or fewer than five days left, you'll be reminded to top-up. You will hear this announcement when you make your first outgoing call each day and before any charged call (e.g., roaming or 411).
To check your account balance and account expiration date at any time, go to My Account in the web browser on your phone, or dial *PAY (*729).
