The four mentors worked with their local contestants: Shannon, Jenny Leigh, Chris and Jordan. Gloria Estefan sang in Shannon’s church choir. John visited a local radio station with Jenny Leigh. To build up Chris’ technique, Nelly made him sing while running on a treadmill. Joe Jonas prepared Jordan with a game of basketball. The four local contestants performed at the Hippodrome Theatre.

Jordan comes from a musical family and plays in church with his two brothers. He is a full-time music student, model, as well as a voice and guitar teacher. Jordan won a Six-Flags Competition, which gave him a Jive Records release on iTunes. He is also an excellent athlete who landed a coveted walk-on spot on the George Mason University basketball team.
In Week 2 Jordan was mentored by Joe Jonas and performed Not Over You by Gavin DeGraw
Chris was given his middle name after Michael Jackson and started singing because of his Mom. He is a singer and a dancer and loves the UK’s music and culture. Chris has over 80,000 views on YouTube of his original song “The Glow”. Chris shoots, produces and edits his own films and videos. He just received his college degree.
In Week 2 Chris was mentored by Nelly and performed the song More by Usher
Choir director Shannon Ramsey also works for the Social Security Administration as a full-time job. Shannon was influenced by her Dad’s music. She was shy as a child but slowly came out of her shell. Shannon performed at Li’l Wayne’s Summer Jam Concert in Baltimore and is the winner of 92Q’s Baltimore Music Conference.
In Week 2 Shannon Ramsey was mentored by Gloria Estefan and performed the song What Doesn't Kill You (Stronger) by Kelly Clarkson
Jenny is a proud Baltimorean and enjoys being a country singer in a town where the country music market isn’t saturated. She was awarded Baltimore’s WPOC 93.1 Artist of the Month. Jenny also works full time in marketing for the athletic wear company Under Armour.
In Week 2 Jenny was mentored by John Rick and performed the song Gunpowder and Lead by Miranda Lambert
