If you recently received a text message, email or call from Cricket regarding a 4G LTE phone upgrade program, read below for more information.


Right now, select 3G smartphone customers in certain areas of Phoenix can upgrade to Cricket's cutting-edge 4G LTE network at a discount. Just bring your 3G phone to your nearest Cricket corporate-owned store. Refer to item 3 below for a list of participating stores. Our new 4G LTE phones provide faster download and upload speeds using the latest 4G LTE network technology, and are compatible with 3G service where 4G LTE isn't available.

Additional 4G LTE roaming coverage is now available for customers with a Samsung Admire II or Samsung Galaxy S4.  In addition, the ZTE Source will be 4G LTE roaming-capable. Refer to Cricket Coverage Maps for current roaming coverage availability.



2. Why is Cricket promoting customers to swap out 3G phones for 4G?

We want to get the word out about Cricket’s fast 4G LTE network and how amazing Cricket’s data network can be at 4G LTE speeds. Who better to invite to try this speedy service than our current loyal 3G smartphone customers! If you received a text message or email and live in Phoenix, please visit one of the stores listed in item 9 below to take advantage of this great offer!

4. Are there any charges associated with switching my phone?

No, the ESN/MEID change fee will be waived.  You will need to switch to an LTE-capable rate plan, including the $50 Smart Plan with 2.5GB of full-speed data, $60 Smart Plan with 5GB of full-speed data or $70 Smart Plan with 10GB of full-speed data.  This change may result in a decrease or increase in your monthly bill depending on your current plan.  Cricket will apply the applicable credit offer you received towards the purchase of any 4G LTE device.



5. Do I have to turn in my old 3G phone?

Yes, to participate, you will need to trade in your old 3G phone to upgrade to the new, faster 4G LTE phone at the store.



6. Are there other features of the 4G phones I should know?

 Cricket offers 5 different 4G handsets from Samsung, HTC and ZTE with varying features. Please visit a store to find out which phone is best for you.

Cricket’s 4G phones offer a data speed of 3-6Mbps, that’s 3-5 times the speed of 3G!

All 4G LTE phones will work in 3G service areas when 4G isn’t available.



7. Do I need to be a current Cricket customer to take advantage of this offer?

Yes, only current Cricket 3G smartphone customers qualify for the offer.  If you recently disconnected service you are no longer eligible.



8. How long is the offer available?

The offer will end on November 27th , while supplies last.  Each Cricket corporate-owned store has a limited supply of phones included in the Phoenix 3G to 4G LTE Smartphone Swap program.



9. Can I add insurance to my new 4G LTE phone and is there a warranty?

Yes, all phones included in the Phoenix 3G to 4G Smartphone Swap are new and include a warranty.  In addition, it is possible to add insurance.
