Cricket Celebrates Black History Month

February is Black History Month, an annual celebration of achievements by African Americans and a time for recognizing the central role of African Americans in U.S. history. The event grew out of “Negro History Week,” the brainchild of noted historian Carter G. Woodson and other prominent African Americans.


Since 1976, every U.S. president has officially designated the month of February as Black History Month.

Martin Luther King Day Parade

On January 17th, Cricket participated in the Martin Luther King Jr. Day Parade held downtown along 4th Street. More than 30,000 were in attendance with more than 100 entrants in the parade – school choirs, bands, and performers. The Cricket street team and the Hypnotix Dance Crew danced their way through the parade while distributing fun Muve Music giveaways to the crowd.
