Frozen Turkey Bowling Draws Crowd and Donations at 2011 Buffalo Winterfest Powder Keg Festival

The crowds gathered to watch and particpate in last weekend's Cricket Wireless Frozen Turkey Bowling Competition in downtown Buffalo for the second annual Buffalo Winterfest and Powder Keg Festival.

Contestants rolled frozen turkeys down regulation sized bowling lanes to strike bowling pins in hopes of bowling a tureky, three strikes in a row, and be entered to win a Cricket phone and a year of service! The competition was tough and all proceeds and donations benefitted the Buffalo Police Athletic League (PAL).

Everyone ended up a winner as all who participated recieced a prize to thank them for taking the challenge and making a donation to the PAL.

To help heat up the competition, local celbrities Jickster from 97 Rock, the Bandettes, and Buffalo's own international DJ, Nik Stylez, competed and performed live!

Cricket would like to thank everyone who came out to support the Buffalo Police Athleitc League and participated in the event. Also, we would like to send special thanks to Alex Tryjankowski, a ninth grader from Clarence High School, for building the lanes. Also, to Clarence Bowling Academy for bowling pins, Hale Northeastern Supply for foul line carpeting, PCS Plumbing & Heating for donating materials, Pearl Street Grill & Brewey for freezer space, and Tops for providing frozen turkeys.

See everyone next year!
