The Cricket team from the Union Ave. store had a busy weekend as they participated in Memphis’ 18th annual Juneteenth Freedom & Heritage Festival. The store also hosted a Hot 107.1 FM remote on Friday, June 17.
Dating back to 1865, Juneteenth is the oldest known celebration of the ending of slavery. In fact, Juneteenth is a state holiday in Texas and Oklahoma, and is celebrated in cities across the United States. This year’s event in Douglass Park featured activities for children, adults and seniors with special celebrations for Black Music Month and Father’s Day.
Cathy Duncan, Union Ave. manager, led Cricket’s efforts at the three-day event. The team demonstrated Muve to hundreds of attendees, flyered the crowd with switch to Cricket messaging, displayed smartphones and garnered two activations.
In addition to educating potential customers, the team was able to interact with the many current Cricket customers attending the festival.
