NOGALES, AZ- A special Spring Project took place on March 19, 2011. A team of employees from Unisource Energy Services, Cricket Wireless and Nogales High School’s National Honor Society through their involvement in Rebuilding Together Santa Cruz County, made improvements to the Vale family home in Rio Rico.
Rebuilding Together has once again partnered with Cricket Communications to serve low-income homeowners in communities across the country. During the project in Nogales, Cricket employees assisted experienced trades people with drywall repair, painting and some electrical work. The Vale home received a much-needed facelift thanks to our volunteers.
“The generous donation by Cricket volunteers is invaluable to us,” remarked Marcela Chavez, Executive Director of Rebuilding Together Santa Cruz County. “As a non-profit organization, every penny that we save by having volunteers perform much needed work, can go to our programs and services to serve those in need.”
In addition to its core home repair work, Rebuilding Together also rehabilitates community centers and conducts home modification and repair programs that focus on aging in place. Rebuilding Together has programs dedicated to energy efficiency, veteran’s housing, and disaster recovery and reconstruction. With the help of everyday citizen volunteers, skilled trades people, the support of local business and major corporate partners, Rebuilding Together affiliates in America’s largest cities and smallest towns make life considerably better for thousands of low-income homeowners.
