Cricket Honored with Goodwill Industries Partner of the Year in Denver

Goodwill Student Advocacy Group

On September 15, 2011, Cricket employees will be honored with the Partner of the Year Award during the Volunteers ROCK Colorado, Goodwill Industries annual volunteer appreciation event.

For the past few years Cricket employees have partnered with Goodwill Industries, volunteering their time to help Denver High School students prepare for their future. Throughout the school year Cricket employees meet with Goodwill's Student Advisory Council, consisting of high-risk students from multiple high school's in the Denver Metro area, working alongside these students to help develop leadership and communication skills, and job interview experience. Becoming involved in community service is another focus of the Student Advisory Counci,l where students are encouraged to become involved with local community events and/or organizations that help provide services to others. Congratulations to Ryan Lane, Tanya Sneddon, Meghan Van Portfliet, Tilyn Mattson, Andy Biglow, Renee Mann, Franny Schmidt, Ryan Durnan and Steve Skarsgard for their hours of dedication to volunteering.

On top of the many hours these volunteers put in, Cricket has also made a generous financial donation in order to support Goodwill’s Student Advisory Council programs and initiative. This year Cricket’s Denver Diversity Advocacy Group, spearheaded by Eric Burger and Jean Wang, won the Diversity & Inclusion Award which allowed them to donate $5,000 to Goodwill Industries in Denver. This donation will ensure the continued success of Goodwill’s Student Advisory Council for years to come.

Let’s hear it for all those Cricket volunteers. You truly ROCK!
