Backstage with Muve Music at SXSW!

Nearly 12,000 registered musicians were present at the 25th Anniversary of SXSW, one of the world’s largest musical festivals located in Austin, TX, with over 200,000 fans making a trip down south for the music extravaganza. Finding a place to grab some great Texan grub, cool and refreshing drinks and great music was not hard to find with performances spilling out all over the city, from every bar, parking lot, back alley and rooftop.

Among the many special treats throughout the week and in celebration of Muve Music™ launching in Austin, Sony recording artist, Miguel, made his first SXSW appearance on Wednesday by meeting fans, signing autographs and performing later in the evening to a room full of music lovers from Austin and all over the world. "2011 marks an exciting year at SXSW. While the music and media conference turns twenty-five years old, Cricket will showcase Muve Music, the very first unlimited wireless rate plan with unlimited music downloads," said Doug Hutcheson, president and chief executive officer of Cricket Communications. "Muve Music lets people explore, discover, download and listen to all the music they want and on their mobile phone as they go. It's truly a mobile digital music experience."

SXSW attendees had two opportunities to experience Muve Music while at the festival. From Monday through Thursday, Muve Music was present at the SXSW Trade Show, but the most anticipated night of the week was the Muve Music by Cricket sponsored Universal Music Group Artist Showcase on Saturday, March 19 at Speakeasy in downtown Austin!

Among the performers at the UMG Showcase was Latin rocker Gustavo Galindo, piano musician Laura Jansen, pop with a splash of R&B and rock 'n' roll attitude Andy Grammer, up and coming musical talent Kevin Hammond, musical sensation Washington, hip hop rising star Gilbere Forte with special guest Jasmine Solano, Australian rock band Electric Touch and ending the night with freestyle rock performers FreeSol!
